Like many others I started with traditional tooling designs like Al Stohlman created them for most of us. I’ve never been a fan of the Sheridan style of carving even though I like seeing them on other’s leather goods.

The first non-traditional carving I made was on a leather canteen, showing our late dog Giacomo. The other item was on a saxophone case. Ever since I started to make things nobody else makes. I never liked Pinterest a lot, but one day I was sick of downloading all pictures to my computer and liked the fact that I can collect them online without having to download them. Now one of my boards is called “Leather Tooling Patterns” and contains many graphics than can be carved and tooled into leather.

Follow Thor’s board Leather Tooling Patterns on Pinterest.

Now here comes the deal for you. If you find a graphic you would like to have carved into your leather good, if it is doable in the size you want it I’ll do it as close as possible to the graphic and if you’re not satisfied you won’t have to buy the product. Some of the patterns require a minimum area of 9 x 19 cm (3.5 x 7.25 inch) and will fit on a long wallet, other will fit anywhere and others will require an even larger area.
